density
The density of canvas fabric is calculated in metric system, which refers to the number of warp and weft yarns arranged in one square inch. The density directly affects the physical and mechanical indexes of the fabric, such as appearance, handle, thickness, strength, folding resistance, air permeability, wear resistance and thermal insulation performance. At the same time, it also affects the cost and production efficiency of the product.
There are two methods for the determination of the density of longitude and latitude:
Direct measurement
The direct measurement method is completed by using a cloth lens or a fabric density analyzer. The length of the scale of the fabric density analysis mirror is 5cm. Under the analysis lens, there is a red line engraved on a long strip of glass. When analyzing the fabric density, move the lens to align the red line on the glass and the red line on the scale between two yarns at the same time. Take this as the starting point, move the lens and count the number of yarns until the 5cm scale is correct. The density of 10cm fabric is calculated by multiplying the number of yarn output by 2.
When counting the number of yarns, the center between the two yarns should be taken as the starting point. When counting to the end point, if more than 0.5 yarns are counted, and if less than one yarn is counted, it should be counted as 0.75 yarn; if less than 0.5 yarn, it should be counted as 0.25 yarn. Generally, 3-4 data of fabric density should be measured, and then the arithmetic mean value should be taken as the measurement result.
Indirect test method
This method is suitable for regular weave fabrics with high density and small yarn count. Firstly, the fabric weave and the number of warp (weft) in its weave cycle are analyzed, and then multiplied by the number of weave cycles in 10cm, the product is the warp (weft) density.
